YourLifeMatch — Digital Nomad City Comparison Tool
What YourLifeMatch is
YourLifeMatch is a digital nomad city comparison tool that helps remote workers,
expats and location-independent professionals find the best places to live and
work abroad. Explore an interactive 3D globe, compare cities side by side, and
get AI-driven relocation recommendations based on cost of living, safety,
internet speed, visas, taxes, healthcare, community and lifestyle.
The Freedom Score
Every city gets a Freedom Score from 0 to 100 — a single number that blends
the factors that determine how good a base a place is for a location-independent
life. Each factor is scored, weighted by how much it matters, and combined into
the final score. Higher is better.
How cities are evaluated
Cost of living (30%) — monthly rent, food, transport and essentials for one remote worker.
Safety (20%) — personal safety and crime levels, anchored to the Numbeo Safety Index.
Internet speed (15%) — average fixed broadband download speed for reliable remote work.
Visa ease (15%) — digital nomad visas, tourist-stay length and renewal friction.
Tax optimization (10%) — income tax rates, territorial systems and nomad tax regimes.
Healthcare (5%) — quality and accessibility of medical care (Numbeo Health Care Index).
Community (5%) — size and strength of the existing remote-worker and expat community.
Lifestyle fit — beach, city, European, luxury or nature character, matched to your preferences.
The Match Score
The Freedom Score is a city's objective baseline — the same for everyone.
After you complete a short questionnaire, YourLifeMatch generates a personalized
Match Score that re-weights these factors around what matters most to you, so a
strong all-round city can still rank lower if it misses your priorities.
Who YourLifeMatch is for
YourLifeMatch is built for digital nomads, remote workers, expats and anyone
planning an international relocation who wants data-driven answers on cost of
living, remote work, visas, taxes, housing, healthcare, internet speed, safety,
walkability and overall quality of life before choosing where to move.

The Methodology
How the Freedom Score is calculated
Every city gets a Freedom Score from 0–100 — a single number blending the factors that actually determine how good a base a place is for a location-independent life. Higher is better. Each factor is scored, weighted by how much it matters, and combined into the final score.
The 8 weighted factors
30%
Cost of Living
Monthly rent, food, transport and essentials for one remote worker. The single biggest driver — low burn rate is what buys freedom.
20%
Safety
Personal safety and crime levels, anchored to the Numbeo Safety Index. You can’t enjoy anywhere you don’t feel secure.
15%
Internet Speed
Average fixed broadband download speed. Non-negotiable for remote work — a beautiful city with dead Wi-Fi is useless.
15%
Visa Ease
How easy it is to legally stay long-term — digital nomad visas, tourist-stay length, and renewal friction.
10%
Tax Optimization
How favorable local tax treatment is for a foreign remote earner — income tax rates, territorial systems, and nomad tax regimes.
5%
Healthcare
Quality and accessibility of medical care, anchored to the Numbeo Health Care Index.
5%
Community
Size and strength of the existing remote-worker and expat community — how easy it is to land and not feel alone.
Fit
Lifestyle
Beach, city, European, luxury or nature character. This doesn’t raise or lower the base score — it’s used to match a city to your stated preferences.
Freedom Score vs. Match Score. The Freedom Score above is the city’s objective baseline — the same for everyone. Once you complete the questionnaire, we generate a personalized Match Score that re-weights these factors around what you said matters most, so a great all-round city can still rank lower for you if it misses your priorities.
